Bulgaria
Camp
We will be running our own Snowboard Coach camps at our school in Bansko in Bulgaria. Loads of interest this year, and great snow made for a good week for the 10 of us that were out here. Two foot of fresh pow and a day hiking the bowls was the highlight of the week for us all. The date is now confirmed for next season as the 23nd - 29th March 2009 - Why change it when it worked so well this year.
The same format as last season where the whole school will be at your disposal so ANY level of rider is welcome. The advanced group and people that have done courses with us will be looking at how to ride all the terrain properly from steeps
to carving and exploring some of Bansko's secret powder, if we are lucky enough to have it. Of course we will also be looking at how all
this technique works in the park.
Then we will have intermediate groups who will be working on techniques and tips to improve and build on what they already know. Not forgetting those of you who are just learning to ride and fancy a week away learning to ride the correct way from the start.
Each day (Mon-Fri) will have a mornings worth of coaching included, leaving each afternoon free for
practice, relaxing or what ever you want to do. We will also have a couple of evenings of video feedback in our own bar by the school. Nights out may will include sampling some of the local food which is awesome (and vodka) and bowling competitions....so be warned!
Accommodation is also included in the price, and its in our own self catered apartments and not hostel style. We have 2 to a room limits max. We also have the use of sauna's, jacuzzi's and a gym area and use of a swimming pool courtesy of the hotel situated next door (for a small fee)
The
cost for the week will start from £299 which includes all transfers as well. We have decided not to include a lift pass as that leaves you free to make your own mind up whether you need a 5 or a 6 day. Some people want to spend the last Saturday chilling...after a night out.
If you need equipment for the week then, as Bansko's only approved Burton LTR centre we have a great selection of board hire at an extra cost. With flights starting
from as little at £25 from wizz air and Easy Jet, it'll be a bargain week. Supplements will be in place if people don't want to share rooms etc....Get in touch with your requirements for a specific price.

About
Bansko
Forget your ideas of the Communist blocks and Russian gangsters,
Bansko is shaping up to be the next "undiscovered" resort
and with over €30,000,000 invested in the ski lifts & facilities,
around €50,000,000 invested in the surrounding area, its easy
to see why there's numerous articles in the UK's national press
saying it's the next big thing.
Bansko, Bulgaria's newest and most modern resort is situated at
the foothills of the Pirin mountains and is listed as a UNESCO world
Heritage site. You fly into Sofia which is the nearest airport and
then a 2 hour transfer will get you to the hill.
The mountain itself is super snowboard friendly and is growing rapidly and there is talk of linking
it with some smaller local resort as well as adding new lifts onto
the surrounding mountains. Two lifts have already been added for
the 2007/08 season and more are planned. Natural snow conditions
can last into the middle of April. Though Bansko does have 59 fixed
and portable snow cannons in place just in case.
For more on Bansko check the Method Snow School website.
