Gary Ashby - Coach Profile
Snowboarding since 2003, Gary is one of the most qualified coaches in the UK. He has 6 years of teaching experience in the UK & Europe, combined with numerous seasons of riding. He started teaching in 2004 and hasn't had more than 3 days in a row off a snowboard since! This time has been spent working his way up through the BASI system, achieving the highest snowboarding qualification in 2008.
While most snowboard instructors only teach in the Winter, Gary coaches 52 weeks of the year, spending his time between teaching in Bansko and the UK.
Gary coaches regularly at Castleford Sno!zone coaching freestyle, advanced riding, and running instructor training. Having coached people at all levels, from beginners through to numerous people going on to complete BASI level 1 & 2 instructor courses.
Currently Gary is involved in running the Snowboard Coach Programme in the North of England and coaching the Level 2 Instructor Programme in Bansko.
On the rare occasions during the week when not strapped into a snowboard, Gary is usually found road or mountain biking.
